Water Rates & Fees

RATES - EFFECTIVE 

Customer Account Charge: $58.00 is billed twice a year to every metered account regardless of the amount of water used, if any.

Safe Drinking Water Act: This is a pass-through fee assessed by the Massachusets Department of Environmental Protection at $.01 per thousand gallons.

Water Usage Rate per Thousand Gallons
Effective  January 2024 to present

$3.60 per 1,000 up to 50,000 gallons
$4.20 per 1,000 between 51,000 and 100,000
$4.80 per 1,000 from 101,000 gallons and up

Unpaid water bills are a lien on real estate. Interest Charge of 7% will be charged to all unpaid balances more than 30 days due. A Demand Shut-off Notice of $30.00 will be issued on unpaid balances of more than $150 and more than 90 days due.

Regular hourly labor rates:

Weekdays-7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. ($90.00 per hour)
Seasonal meter charge ($144.00) billed on removal. This includes re-installation whenever requested.
 The following is the rate schedule for emergency call service:
  Weekdays - 4:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. - 2 hours minimum
($135.00 per hour) per man, plus parts and charges for any other equipment.
12:00 A.M. to 6:00 A.M. - 4 hours minimum plus parts

Weekends & Holidays - 6:00 A.M. - 12:00 A.M. - 2 hours minimum
($135.00 per hour) per man, plus parts
12:00 A.M. - 6:00 A.M. - 4 hours minimum plus parts
Each additional hour - $135.00 per man per hour, plus charges for any necessary equipment

OTHER FEES:

Hydrant Rental - Customers that request the use of a hydrant in order to fill a pool, minimize dusty conditions, cool off mulch piles, etc.

      $90 to set/retrieve hydrant meter, $30 per day rental fee plus water usage.

 

Demand for AccessFollowing several unsuccessful attempts to gain access to the property to inspect water meters, connections and devices the District may issue a Demand for Access Notice - Failure to provide access will result in the turning off of water and a $120 fee.

Backflow Device Testing Fee  - As part of its Cross Connection Program, the District requires testing of backflow devices.  The frequency of testing depends on the type of device.  All devices are assessed a fee of $65 for each device.
